Mr. Upton came to the practice of law after a lengthy career in local government in both West Virginia and Maryland. He is a past president of local government management organizations in both states and has served on numerous governmental advisory boards. He is a past president of the Calvert County Bar Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the Calvert County Nursing Center and a charter member of the Calvert County Kiwanis Club. He previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of Jefferson Patterson Park and Calvert Healthcare Solutions. Mr. Upton has also taught Business Law Local Government. Although Mr. Upton presently practices on a limited basis, his past practice focused on land use issues, real estate transactions, personal injury and criminal defense.
