Paul Dougherty is a Southern Maryland attorney who focuses his practice in the areas of Bankruptcy and Civil Litigation. As one of the leading Bankruptcy attorneys in the area, he has represented individuals and families who file for bankruptcy, as well as banks and businesses to protect their rights as creditors when a client or vendor files for bankruptcy. He also counsels clients in non-bankruptcy financial matters. In addition, Paul maintains an active civil litigation practice throughout Maryland. He represents individuals and organizations in contract, financial, real estate and other litigation matters in both state and federal courts.
Paul earned his Juris Doctor from Villanova University, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland. He clerked for the Honorable Jerome Herlihy in the Delaware Superior Court, and practiced corporate bankruptcy law in Wilmington, Delaware for many years.
He is a member of the Calvert County and Anne Arundel County Bar Associations, Inns of Court, and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in both Maryland and Delaware. Paul also serves on the board of the Arc of Southern Maryland.
Paul lives in Annapolis, Maryland with his wife and two children.
